"Lavender Sunset" painting by Karen Whitworth.
Wild Rain Lavender Farm sits in a picturesque setting of Oregon's Willamette Valley. What a gorgeous place! I had the pleasure of painting it during the 2013 Yamhill Lavender Festival. It was pure joy to paint among the rows of fragrant lavender and listen to the happy buzzing honey bees go about their business. Words cannot describe the scene adequately, even with paint I found my materials insufficient in doing such a grand and mesmerizing setting justice. This painting "Lavender Sunset" of Wild Rain Farm was awarded second place in the Lavender Festival Plein Air competition. What an honor and perfect ending to my time in Yamhill, Oregon.
