Description
"Just Beyond" - Plein Air Lavender Landscape Impressionism Painting -This painting was created at Lavender Lake in Independence, Oregon. What an adventure of lavender-painting-heaven that week was! On this day, I was drawn to this adorable house just past the field... the composition was far different than anything I had ever done before so I wandered the lavender fields for quite a while, trying to find a different scene to paint. (I was being a chicken) Finally, I succumbed to the mysterious pull of this unique composition. It was just irresistible. :) I'm so glad I did! This impressionistic style really lent itself to the fields full of purple flowers. The textures and rows of lavender just begged for thick brushstrokes and even some palette knife. Can you imagine having a flower garden like this?

This is stunning. Your pallet is both soothing and vibrant. There is something both rich and stark about this scene. probably the symmetrical aspect of the composition with the twin trees and the central house- it suggests a loneliness. But I wouldnt mind being lonely here! beautiful

Aaron, this response really makes me happy! :) You nailed it! The scene communicated isolated bliss to me. Being alone isn't always fun, but in this place, it appeared to be an oasis. Sometimes it's good to get away and enjoy the silence. Thanks for your comment. So glad you enjoy my painting!
