Autumn in Alaska is one of the most spectacular things to witness. This is compounded by it's brief appearance. Some years it seems to be skipped all together where the grip of winter sets in before the leaves even have a chance to drop. But during special years where the wind stays at bay and the icy fingers of winter wait their turn, the visuals that result are nothing short of breathtaking! Golden forest canopies of vibrant birch, aspen, and other tree varieties set the scene for a incredible stained-glass-like light show. This painting was the result of one such year where everything came together just right. Even the ravens seemed to enjoy the dancing light and vibrant colors.

Great use of colour and tones. A very beautiful technique indeed and an interest take on a bird portrait! v
K Whitworth replied:
Hi Martin! Thank you very much! It was a lot of fun keeping the background loose, messy and almost abstract. Really helped the raven 'pop' too! :) I am tickled that you like it!
