"Reflecting", Horned Puffin painting in Alaska scenery by Karen Whitworth -
Growing up in Alaska, scenes like this often fill an artist's imagination. Nature envelopes you and all things wild and rugged occupy our minds. Here two very cute and smartly dressed horned puffins have found their way to my easel! :) Their beautiful plumage reflects all sorts of vibrant colors, which for an artist, makes for a fabulous subject to paint. From the orange of their little webbed feet, to the blue of the clear skies above, I had a blast pulling all that color into their white feathers! :) I love how puffins always look like they are in a good mood. Or maybe it's the effect they have on me when I look at them... I hope they do the same for you!
The original painting is sold framed in a dark wood colored distressed frame with an elegant white linen liner. The understated natural feel of the dark frame, paired with the clean white linen liner make for a sharp presentation that honors nature's presence in this piece of art and adds a touch of refined polish at the same time. :)
